Agartala, January 2 (TIWN): Paschim Tripura Zilla Parishad on Friday pays tribute to Adwaita Mallabarman on his 101st birth anniversary. The whole programme was set up at Mukta Dhara. The programme was inaugurated by SC Welfare Minister Ratan Bhowmik. Sabhadipati of Paschim Tripura Zilla Parishad presided over the programme while Dilip Das, Samarjit Bhowmik and other dignitaries remained present. To mark the occasion, Minister Ratan Bhowmik paid floral tribute to this legendary figure.
While delivering speech, Minister Mr. Bhowmik told that, Novelist Adwaita Malla Burman penned down the surrounding realities of society through his literary works, which depicted the lifestyle of marginal communities. His "Titas- Ekti Nadir Naam" is one of the most amazing literary pieces in Bangla literature.
Advaita Mallabarmana (1 January 1914- 16 April 1951) was a Bengali writer. He was born in the village Gokarnoghat on Titas River in the Brahmanbaria District of Bengal. He is famous for his novel Titash Ekti Nadir Naam which was published in a monthly named Mohammadi five years after his death. Following his school education in Brahmanbaria, Mallabarana got admitted to Victoria College in Calcutta. He worked sequenially in several newspapers, such as Triura, Navashakti, Mohammadi, Dainik Azad, and Desh.
Besides that the legendaries other literary works are “Aprakasita Palligiti,” “Duti Baromasi Gan,” Pakhir gan”, Shada Hawah,” “Jiban Trisha,” “Dal bedhe” and many more.
