AGARTALA, Feb 14 (TIWN): An active CPI-M worker, Benu Biswas, resident of Kamalpur in Rajnagar Assembly constituency, Belonia was brutally murdered by local BJP miscreants. He was declared dead in the hospital on 11th Februray.
This murder erupted angst among locals and locals united blocked roads demanding exemplary punishment of the BJP miscreants, as the miscreants have generated a terror situation in the area for last few years.
Centering Benu Biswas’s murder today former CM Manik Sarkar, CPI-M leaders Badal Chowdhury, Tapan Chakraborty, Shahid Chowdhury, Bhanu Lal Saha, Ratan Bhowmik, MLA Sudhan Das, Tapas Dutta and others visited deceased Benu Biswas’s home and met family members.
While reacting before the media, opposition leader Manik Sarkar raised questions on the role of police for claiming it was natural death based on Hospital’s verbal statement.
Sarkar blasted CM Biplab Deb cum Home Minister over "Zero Response" to the murder incident.
