AGARTALA, Feb 12 (TIWN): Expressing shocks over Tripura Police headquarter’s statement declaring that CPI-M party worker was not murdered in Rajnagar, CPI-M Party State Secretary Jitendra Choudhury said, “Such a press release is a criminal offence. Without post mortem’s full report, how can police declare it a normal ? Eyewitnesses and the demand of the locals were ignored”. Today, the CPI-M party also held a protest against the barbaric murder of its party worker in Belonia. MLA Sudhan Das was present during the protest and delivered a speech.A massive rally was organized in Raj Nagar demanding immediate arrest of the culprits. A protest was staged at Chottakhola also.

So far no arrest was done even after having eye-witnesses of the incident. MLA Sudhan Das has criticized the role of police.
Yesterday, in Belonia, local people organized a road blockade demanding arrests of the culprits.
The murder was allegedly done by BJP members under the leadership of 1) Joydeb Sarkar, a member of Belonia sub-division’s Raj Nagar Panchayat Samity, and another local BJP leader 2) Manik Sarkar.
CPI-M said, the party will go to High Court if the murderers are not arrested.
