AGARTALA, Feb 11 (TIWN): After winning in the Municipal Poll by ‘Chappa Vote’ the ruling BJP govt has started evicting the Vendors, small earners shopkeepers from roadside in the name of making ‘Smart City’, opposing Govt’s inhuman moves CITU placed deputation to the AMC mayor, Dipak Majumder.

CPIM leader said that to stop eviction of Hawkers in the name of making the city Smart, and if they are evicted then alternative arrangement must be done. “In previous time under the CPIM era after meeting with Hawkers decisions were taken to widening the road by organising alternative arrangements. But under this year no meeting was held with Hankerer’s, oppositely without any alternative arrangements the staffs are vacating the roadside, resulting the poor people has affected most”, said a CPIM leader

Besides the traditional Bamboo traders who have been trading over years after years in Battala area were given notice to vacate the area, despite High Court’s stay order to the traders illegally they have  been forced to vacate the area. Raising all those issues CITU placed deputation to the mayor of AMC.
