During the launch of the 15 days long agitation program CPI (M) state secretary Bijan Dhar coming down heavily on the Modi govt. at the centre alleged that the centre has not taken any proactive measures to contain the rising rate of terrorism across the country, inspite of a brutal killings of Adivasis and Bodos in Assam Sontipur and other districts. Dhar also alleged that neither the Assam govt. nor centre has taken any necessary steps to take a stock of the worsen situation.
He alleged that the Narendra Modi-government at the Centre has failed to contain insurgency and ethnic violence in the northeast.
Bijan Dhar claimed that racial and religious split across the country has widened after the BJP-led government came to power. Dhar also claimed that poor, backward and marginalized sections of the country have become more prone to sufferings because of the Centre's policies and actions which intend to safeguard the interest of the upper class.

He also said that forceful religious conversion in the state will not be tolerated. And reacting sharply on Manik Sarkar’s statement the BJP State President Sudhindra Das Gupta said that such a remark does not contain any meaning. No such forceful religious conversions have occurred yet in the state Tripura, claimed Das Gupta. He also said that the land down the foot of the CPI (M) and the left front is now falling due to which they has been trying to stage a malicious campaign here in the state Tripura. Mr. Das Gupta also said that almost 13 per cent of Tripura tribals, traditionally Hindu believers, have been converted to Christianity over the past decade. Ghar wapsi doesn't attempt forceful conversion, it only offers an opportunity to the converted Christians to come back into the Hindu fold, Dasgupta said.
