Agartala, January 2 (TIWN): As part of National Pulse-Polio immunization programme, with the initiative of West District Chief Medical Officer’s office, Pulse-Polio Vaccination drives will be conducted on January 18 and February 23, next covering kids between the age zero to five years.
According to a source, a total of 72829 children will be administered polio drops in West Tripura district during the drives. As many as 784 booths will be opened to conduct the Pulse Polio Vaccination drives successfully. The drives will be held from 8 am to 4 pm on the specific dates, he added.
To hold the programme and to ensure that every child is vaccinated officers and staffs from various departments have been put on alert and given specific tasks to mobilize resources to cover every child under the programme.
Besides, door-to-door campaign, polio booths will be set up in schools, Anganwadi centers, market places, bus stands, railway stations, panchayat offices and other places.
The Central Government had launched the pulse-polio drive in order to make a polio-free country. The pulse-polio drive takes the care of vaccinating every child of the specified age.
