AGARTALA, Feb 10 (TIWN): Forest Dept has traditionally remained infamous for massive corruption in Tripura and after the Govt changed in 2018, nothing was changed, rather illegal wood cutting and smuggling has increased than ever before.
Reportedly, in the last 72 hours, more than 2,500 trees were cut in the Senapati Para area in Madhupur.
Talking to a local man named Harinath Debbarma, he accused Forest Dept employees behind the racket and also alleged local BJP leaders Swapan Debbarma, Sudhanshu Debbarma, Pradip Debbarma, Santosh Debbarma, and Surajit Debbarma's involvement in the nexus.
