AGARTALA, Feb 8 (TIWN): BJP’s resigned MLAs Sudip Roy Barman, Asish Saha have joined the Congress party today in New Delhi in the presence of Congress National Leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi. Sudip Barman’s decision to return to Congress is after four years of his political breakup with the party as he served as a BJP MLA in Tripura. In 2017, for the sake of change, under the leadership of Narendra Modi, Sudip Barman along with 5 more MLAs had joined the BJP from Congress. After that Congress could not re-establish itself as the former Congress President Pradyot Manikya too had quit Congress due to party’s indiscipline in 2019.

After four years of BJP Governance in Tripura and a massive clash, infighting inside the BJP, finally many MLAs are on the row to quit BJP. After MLA Asish Das, now BJP MLAs Sudip Barman, Asish Saha has joined the Congress party and yesterday three more BJP MLAs were seen with Sudip Barman and Asish Saha.

Though a “Big Challenge” for Sudip Barman to take Congress back to its form, he has challenged that BJP Govt will turn a minority soon in this state and many more MLAs by phases will join the Congress party.
