AGARTALA, Feb 6 (TIWN): Anganwadi workers maintaining COVID guidelines protested before the CITU office at office lane, Agartala with various demands.
CITU leader Panchali Bhattacharjee said that ICDS, Mid Day meal and ASHA workers’ allocated budget has been reduced and they are being informed from sources that the allocated amount will be reduced more in the forthcoming budget sessionn and that’s why they have started protesting.
They have demanded no workers should be retired till their Pension starts, the wages should be increased. Every year the allocated budget has been reduced for the ICDS, Mid Day meal and ASHA workers, this time should not be reduced, demanded the Anganwadi workers.
If their demands are not met they will go for massive protests.
In Haryana total 50 ICDS workers were terminated and Police registered FIR against above 200 workers for protesting. Police’s such act was condemned strongly by Panchali Bhattacharjee.
