Agartala, Jan 1 (TIWN): At least 8 passengers were injured in a tragic road mishap at Patacherra area in Udaipur sub-division, this morning.
According to the police, out of them 5 injured persons were identified as- Raju Dey (35) of Satchand, Sunil Das (36) of Murapara, Uttam Das (18) of Matabari, Ramesh Datta (25) of Fulkumari and Aahar Miah (40) of Sonamura. Police could not confirm the names of rests injured persons.
According to the police, while a Max loaded with passenger bearing the number TR03-3388 was proceeding towards Garji, collided face on with a Bolero bearing the number TR03-A-3683. As a result at least 8 passengers sustained severe injuries on their persons.
The injured persons are undergoing treatment at Udaipur District hospital at Tepania. Among them, condition Aahar Miah is stated to be critical and he was referred to GBP hospital.
After receiving the information on the road accident, a vast contingent of police rushed to the spot and seized both of the vehicles. The accident took place due to the rush and negligence driving of the drivers of the vehicles, said police. The drivers of the vehicles fled away immediately after the accident. A specific case has been registered in this regard, confirmed police.
