AGARTALA, January 1 (TIWN): With it’s another move for the development of the education system here in Tripura, the state govt. decided to set up separate state university besides the existing Central University at Suryamoninagar, said Minister Tapan Chakroborty.
Talking to the reporters at the civil Secretariat State Education Minister Tapan Chakroborty said that the state had prepared the State University Bill for setting up a state university in Tripura. Meeting of council of ministers to be held on January 7 to finalize it and the bill will be tabled on the very day during the meeting, said Minister Tapan Chakroborty.
He further added that the same bill would be placed in the winter session of the state assembly beginning in February and if passed, the university would be set up.
He said, if everything goes on right track, the academic session might start by July.
Saying that all the infrastructures for setting up the state university is ready he added that the varsity would be started initially taking four colleges of the capital under its affiliation.
