AGARTALA, Jan 28 (TIWN): The bamboo traders who have been running their trade for over 60 years near Jahar Bridge area were ordered by AMC to remove their business from that area within 31st March. To continue their trade the AMC arranged an area in Dukli industrial area. The trader had shown resentment of AMC's decision and appealed in High Court regarding this issue. However, the HC ordered to postpone eviction until the matter is resolved. But, suddenly the South Zone Assistant Municipal Commissioner sent notice that within 5days they clear the trade spot.
Where a notice has been issued from the Court that the traders cannot be evicted as the case is postponed, then how is the AMC staff violating Court’s rule? Centering this, the traders confronted the media and expressed resentment about this issue.
The entire matter was briefed by Advocate Purushattom Roy Barman.
