AGARTALA, Jan 28 (TIWN): A team of paramilitary forces including OC Bidhan Das of Panchgram PS of Hailakandi conducted a search operation based on secret information at Thandapur on Thursday and recovered 11 Kg cannabis from an auto register number- AS11DC9398. A woman named Shefali Gupta along with driver Manoj Kanti Adhikari were arrested.

Getting information, DSP Surjit Chakraborty rushed to the spot along with his team and detained two persons with cannabis and brought the seized cannabis to Panchgram PS. 

OC Bidhan Das said a search operation was conducted on the national highway based on secret information and cannabis was seized from the auto. Two were arrested but another person escaped from the spot and the market value of seized cannabis would be lakhs of amount.

An investigation is underway to find out whether the fugitive was involved in the illegal activities
