AGARTALA, Jan 26 (TIWN): Tripura Govt's Nesha Mukt Tripura message so far remained only verbally, as several youths are getting addicted to drugs in the state. A 23-year-old man identified as Subrata Debnath of Lankamura area hanged himself in absence of his family members reportedly after not getting drugs in due time.
Talking with his family members it is known since a long time he was addicted to drug consumption.
Locals claimed the selling of drugs in the area has increased rampantly. The family and the locals said that due to rampant drugs trade in the area, the youth of the area are drowning in drugs and finally choosing the path of suicide.
The locals demanded stern action from the Police administration should be taken to curb this rampant drug trade; otherwise the new generation would be destroyed under this drug addiction.
