AGARTALA, Jan 24 (TIWN): Theft incidents in Bishalgarh sub-division are not new. Bike theft, cattle theft, theft in shops are often happening. Yesterday, thieves stole cattle cost of 70 to 80 thousand under Bishalgarh Sub-division, raising questions on the role of Police patrolling.
Presently, night curfew is going on and amid night curfew unnecessary outing after 8 pm is punishable, but showing thumb the theft incidents have also increased and the role of the police is extremely unsatisfactory.
Another burglary took place at Manoranjan Roy's house in East Gokulnagar under Bishalgarh PS. Thieves entered Manoranjan Roy's house and stole the cattle on Sunday night. The market value of the stolen cattle would be around 70 to 80 thousand rupees.
The house owner expressed anger against the police and said that if the Police had performed their duty properly then theft incidents would not happen.
