AGARTALA, Jan 22 (TIWN): Raising the issue of blood crisis Congress leader, Gopal Roy criticized Tripura CM Biplab Deb for failing to encourage youths to donate blood.
Gopal Roy said, "All the Hospitals of Tripura including GB are going through severe blood crisis. Whenever patient party ask for any blood group in the blood bank, the staff always return them by saying unavailability of blood”.
Roy also said that when people rush to donate blood in blood banks they return as the infrastructure of the blood banks is weak.
Such blood crisis was never seen before in the last 20-25 years and Biplab and his Company failed to inspire the youth to donate blood, added Roy.
Roy demands that without any negligence the ruling Govt should take steps and be more active to organise Blood Donation camps in various areas, otherwise the death rate from blood crisis will increase.
Tripura Govt in 2020 promised to donate Rs 10 lakh as compensation to the COVID death families. Raising the issue Roy said, ”How many COVID death families have yet received Rs 10 lakh? Above 300 COVID-related deaths were reported. How many families received Rs 10 lakh compensation ? Besides in GB Hospital Rs 500 is needed for RT PCR test and in TMC Hospital around Rs 700-750 is needed for RT PCR test
Roy demanded the Govt should take initiative for the test should be done at free of cost as the rate of test will become heavy on poor families.
