AGARTALA, Jan 20 (TIWN): According to the details it is known Pradip Paul, a farmer in Konaban Sitakhla area cultivated vegetables in his 3 hectares plot and at nearby area ONGC Company's gas extraction point was also set up. As a result the vegetable field went under sand and including the field his vegetables were too damaged.
The farmer Pradip Paul was assured by the ONGC Company that he would get the compensation within a few days but even after completing 2 months the family did not get any compensation.
After noticing 2 months of ONGC Company’s avoidances the family today blocked the main gate of ONGC demanding compensation and the blockade will not withdraw until the family is compensated. Due to road blockade, the vehicles of ONGC were stuck for a long time.
Moreover, it is known the farmer Pradip Pal has been starving for a long time due to the loss of their vegetable crop and is collecting food for their children by borrowing from people.
