AGARTALA, Jan 18 (TIWN): Based on secret information Madhupur PS Police held a anti-cannabis operation in Madhupur area and destroyed 140,000 lakhs Cannabis plants in 37 plots.

The cannabis plantations were spread over a total of 70 acres of land in the surrounding areas including Konaban Sitakhla, Haser Dung, Burir Dung, Radhanagar, Duranta Chowdhury para etc under Kamalasagar assembly constituency

The anti-cannabis raid was done by 1st Battalion of TSR, BSF's Kamthana BOP, Konaban BOP, Kamalasagar BOP and Bishalgarh Forest Department under the leadership of Madhupur Police Station OC Tapas Das.

Police have not been able to apprehend any trafficker associated with these cannabis plantations.
