AGARTALA, Jan 18 (TIWN): Treatments were disrupted in Tripura’s biggest Govt hospital GB on Tuesday due to a long power cut. In the last few years, power disruption has increased heavily in this hospital whereas the rural hospital's conditions are critical. Today, talking to patients they said, no treatment was happening due to power-cut. However, Doctors, Health Staff were found working with candles and torches. Talking to a patient party, she said, “My daughter fainted at home and she was referred to GB hospital. I am feeling helpless as no treatment is happening”.
When GB Hospital has been reeling under a long shutdown under the HIRA Regime of BJP Govt, CM Biplab Deb last year had claimed that Tripura's Health Services are better than Hyderabad and Mumbai. GB hospital is the biggest Govt hospital in Tripura and the main referral hospital.
Under Biplab Deb-led Health Dept severe problems are being reported in this Health system. Recently ambulance services were stopped by the Govt after it removed many free Health Services in Govt hospitals.
