AGARTALA, Jan 18 (TIWN): Tripura BJP Govt has miserably failed to reveal the expenditure of the hefty fine collections during the Covid period.
Though last year, Minister Ratan Lal Nath had given specific data on fine collection and expenditure after media-led criticism this year, there is no information about the fine collection, fund-stocks out of that.
Everyday during mask enforcement, Rs. 200 is being fined to each mask-protocol violators and in social media, netizens continue to mock the administration or are collecting ‘party’ funds.
Due to the grievance of the allegations, the expenditure, utilization of the fine-collection funds are in demand to be revealed.
Analysis says a section of the public is turning intolerant to the Covid restrictions and unwilling to obey the Covid protocols. Officials on duty told the media that restrictions have to be strictly maintained due to the serious alert on Covid wave nationwide.
