AGARTALA, Jan 17 (TIWN): Reportedly, Lakshan Dey husband of Sujata Neogi Dey, Pradhan of West Kalabaria Panchayat cum GS of Mahila Morcha and secretary of Belonia OBC Morcha were beaten up while they were reaching at home from Jirtali Bazar. The allegation raised against Sumon Biswas, Bachchan Chowdhury and Sanjit Chowdhury for attacking them in group with rods and sticks, on Sunday.

A case was lodged at Belonia PS against the BJP leader for attacking the same party member. It is learned that the incident took place at the instigation of Pradyut Chowdhury of West Kalabaria Panchayat.

The victim said with life risk they escaped from the incident spot, though the reason behind the attack was not known.
