AGARTALA, Jan 14 (TIWN): Congress, CPI-M, Trinamool parties condemned police brutality on two students in the name of CM’s safety.
The allegation of Police harassment on two youths was raised after they were arrested. Yesterday, while the convoy of the Chief Minister was on its way to the Circuit House area, two youths were found stuck in the road due to technical problems in their car. The police officials allegedly beat up the youths, arrested them. Moreover, a boy was beaten up in his private part.
TIPRA Motha chairman Pradyot Debbarman has also condemned the alleged attack.
TSF will take legal action against the alleged tortures on the SC, ST students in Agartala. Today TSF members met the NCC PS Police and they will also meet the SP. It has been known, the students who were allegedly tortured by traffic police, have been put under the false cases. TSF said, “This is most probably a way to harass the victims. If it is true, we will take action. There is a special provision in the constitution that ensures no official should torture or harass, SC and ST. It might be targeted harassment. We will give full support to the victims”.
