AGARTALA, Jan 12 (TIWN): 2 young men who came to a “kirtan” (a religious programme) were attacked by local Communist members in Rastarmatha.

The victims were identified as Akash Das and Rahul Sarkar. The incident took place at Harinam Kirtan Yajna in Rastarmata area under Bishalgarh police station.

It was alleged Akash Das (20) and his friend Rahul Sarkar(18) went to the fair at Rastarmatha market and to return home, while they went to a Parking spot to take out their parked bike, some leftist local leader allegedly beaten them up, but the reason of the attack was not known.

The family on receiving the untoward information took the two injured youths to Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Hospital as they were bleeding.

The victim’s family said before media that the case will be launched against the miscreants at Bishalgarh PS.
