AGARTALA, December 30 (TIWN): Tripura Transport Minister Manik Dey urged the state Transport department to take necessary steps in regard of setting up fare charts for the auto-rickshaw and other passenger vehicles within January 20, 2015. Minister Manik Dey held a meeting with the transport department officials at the Secretariat conference hall No. 3.
During a meeting held at the secretariat Minister Manik Dey stressed on online work of the road tax, driving license and registration to restrict any kind of sufferings of the people of the state. Mr. Dey also urged the DTOs and Inspectors to visit every private driving school and pollution state centre at least 3 days a month and submit a report on it. The meeting decided to provide driving license through postal service to the consumers across the state from January 1, 2015.
Minister Manik Dey also urged the officials to take necessary initiative in regard of providing high security number plates and to bring the situation of over loading in the passenger vehicles under control. He ordered for better examination of the fitness of the school buses and auto-rickshaws across the state. “Modernized stoppage has to be set up identifying the important and busy areas across the state” ordered Manik Dey to the officials.
However during a meeting Minister Manik Dey insisted on extension of the validity of the temporary registration of all kinds of vehicles till 15 days instead of 1 month. Later he urged the people of the state to be much aware in order to restrict road accidents in the state.
During a meeting held at the secretariat, Transport Department Secretary Sanarjit Bhowmik, department additional secretary Amit Ray Barman along with others remained present.
