AGARTALA, Jan 8 (TIWN): BJP Ex-MLA Asish Das again was arrested by NCC Police on 23rd Protest Day. The former BJP MLA Asish Das was arrested by NCC PS Police again on Saturday when he was protesting at the Gandhi statue at Circuit House. Police arrested him saying ‘Covid situation’. Resenting Asish Das called Tripura CM Biplab Deb an “Illiterate CM” misusing power. Today was the 23rd day of protest by Asish Das. He was protesting against the privatization of Tripura schools in the name of Vidya Jyoti. “I beg the CM to evict me from my Rabindra Palli home. My children will return to villages and I will be on the road. Few people call me mad but let me tell you without mad, no revolution comes. If the CM makes me out of my quarter, I will start living in front of CM’s house”, said Asish Das.

“The Govt is making us arrest with Covid excuses but I would say, the Govt itself is not obeying Covid laws. From the 4th January rally to Biplab Deb’s 6th January rally, nobody maintained Covid protocols. But common men are harassed in the name of Covid……….I will not give up. My protest will continue against privatization of schools”, added Asish Das.
