AGARTALA, Jan 8 (TIWN): Demanding various Points on the joint call of National Trade Unions and other organisations, a strike will be held on 23 & 24 Feb opposing Modi’s anti-people rules.
The points raised that Labour rules must be abolished and electricity distribution, supply laws need to be repealed. After repealing the Agriculture Act, the Sanjukta Kisan Morcha 6-points demand has to be complied with. To stop privatisation of all Nationalised platforms, the National Monetization Plan (NMP) must be scrapped.
The Families who are not covered by income tax will have to pay financial assistance of Rs. 7500 per month for food and other necessities. Have to increase spending on the MGNRega project, besides, employment guarantee projects will have to be launched for urban areas. Social security must be ensured for the working people, those who are working in non-traditional fields. To ensure minimum wages and social security for Anganwari, Asha, Mid-day Meal and other Govt project workers. Appropriate protection and insurance arrangements should be made for all the workers who have continued their service during COVID pandemic. In order to revive the country's economy, spending on agriculture, education, health and other emergency public services must be increased.
To take specific steps to curb inflation on petroleum products and all contract workers/ employees under various projects must be regularised. In all cases, the principle of 'equal pay for equal work' has to be implemented. The previous pension system should be introduced by abolishing the National Pension System (NPS) and the minimum pension will have to be increased in the Employees’ Pension (EPF) scheme.
The all demands were discussed by the National Trade Unions leaders at Rabindra Bhawan today.
