AGARTALA, Jan 5 (TIWN): Trinamool leader Rajib Banerjee on Wednesday has slammed the BJP led State Govt for arresting TMC activists from a peaceful rally.
“Our programme was pre-announced. We were protesting peacefully. What was the need of arresting us? Such actions by police again has proven that Tripura has no democracy”, said Banerjee.
Over 400 Trinamool agitators were arrested in Agartala during Raj Bhawan Abhijan.
Trinamool Congress slammed the police, asking why it did not take action against BJP members who participated in PM Modi’s rally without masks ?
However, Police told media that TMC had completed Raj Bhawan Abhijan but they were not vacating the road which is a VIP road and also the main route to go to the Airport.
