AGARTALA, Jan 5 (TIWN): Though Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Astabal rally on Tuesday greeted the people of Tripura a ‘Happy New Year’ but as his BJP Party led Tripura Govt has totally failed to solve 10323 teachers problems, there is no ‘Better Days’ for the terminated 10323 teachers. Today, Jiban Debbarma who was only 43 years old died of a heart attack amidst the BJP’s given pre-poll promise of solving 10323 teachers’ problems could not be fulfilled. Talking to the deceased wife, she told the media that her husband was haunted by livelihood tension and the termination depressed him totally. The deceased has left his wife, son, and old parents behind. The Joint Movement Committee has consoled Jiban Debbarma’s death. JMC ensured that 10323 teachers will go in massive protests in the coming days. “Our protest will be democratic and apolitical. No political color can be used in our united protest”, said Ajay Debbarma.
The death toll among the 10323 teachers rose to 121.
The teachers lost their jobs as per Court’s order though teachers alleged misinterpretation of the Court’s verdict. BJP before the 2018 Assembly Election promised 10323 teachers to make them permanent with an amendment by Parliament but BJP after assuming power instead of promise-fulfilling, the State Govt ended up with Lathi-Charge, Police Brutality used on the agitating teachers.
About a year over 500 terminated teachers were injured in Police brutality when the teachers were continuing their 52 days long protest day at Agartala City Center.
