TULAMURA / UDAIPUR, December 29 (TIWN): DWS Minister Ratan Bhowmik invariably assures the people of the state saying ," State Govt is committed to provide purified and uninterrupted supply of drinking water to each and every citizen of the state. " But how often his promises are ridiculed by the people of the state. Over the last few weeks road blockades were organized in different parts of state and his own sub division Udaipur is no exception.
Today a group of angry people especially women of his own constituency blocked the main road at Camper Tila area under Shalgarah- Kakraban constituency. DWS Minister Ratan Bhowmik is an elected MLA from this constituency.
It is alleged that for the last few weeks people living in Camper Tila area of Tulamura under Shalgarah-Kakraban area are suffering from drinking water. In spite of their repeated complaints neither Tulamura Panchayat nor DWS authorities took any step to solve their problems . Today the women of the area lost their patience and blocked the main road at Camper Tila area. It started at 11am and even at 4pm the agitated women did not withdraw their agitation.
Pump operator Bidhan Ch Paul told TIWN," For the last few days dust particles are coming with the water. As a result of it the pump got badly damaged. It was repaired on on Thursday buy as soon as water supply started on Friday, again the lump got damaged. As a result of it drinking water supply is stopped." However, DWS authorities assured that with in four days water supply will resume in the area. Getting this assurance people withdrew their agitation but gave an ultimatum that if their problems are not solved with in four days, they will create a deadlock.
