AGARTALA, Jan 3 (TIWN): Savitri Bai Phule fought for the upliftment of Women Status in the Indian Society, who was also the First woman teacher and campaigned to create awareness on the need for education for women. Today with the initiative of Tripura Tafashili Jati Samannay Samiti, Savitri Bai Phule’s 191th Birth Anniversary was observed at Dr B.R Ambedkar Bhavan Melarmath Agartala.
Sudhan Das, a member of Tripura Tafashili Jati Samonnoy Samiti said that Savitri Bai Phule and her Husband Jyotirao Phule jointly took the initiative to fight against Racist, inequality, and discrimination. Das stated, Many women in India are deprived of getting education, amid Dalits are more deprived, and extreme torture is organizing presently on Dalits.”
“Dalit Women are not secured. On one side they are deprived of Education, and on the other side, the Dalit women are suffering from insecurities. The attack on women has increased under the BJP regime and Tripura too has been undergoing a frightening situation of attacks on women”, added Das during his speech.
Sudhan Das requested Society’s Educated people to come forward and to fight against Racism, Inequality, and Discrimination.
