Agartala, Dec 29 (TIWN): Year 2014 brought many jolts for the hyped “Golden Era†of this state. One after another scams unearthed, close aides of ministers and party leaders even the so-called clean CM came under the scanner of law. In many cases, the police tried their best to safeguard the accused. Almost every centrally sponsored schemes and projects came under scanner. Media brought out scams reported by CAG, which were kept suppressed earlier. Now, the auditor of SSA (Sarva Siksha Abhiyaan), K. K. Chanani & Associates brought out several serious matters in the SSA for the 2012-2013 fiscal. But still no action is seen to be taken, which would surely intensify the problem.
In their report, the mentioned that, amounts in excess of 20,000 rupees were being paid in cash in mutiple instances, which was very serious matter. Again, in case of paying car hire charges the name and designation of user or higher authorities were not written in the log sheet. Payments were being frequently made for lunch or dinner of different training programs without mentioning details of such programs and participants and their numbers. Items like cartridge, toner, pen etc. were frequently brought from open market without proper tendering process.
All these clearly indicate towards financial embezzlement. But the State government and the State authority of SSA remained reluctant to resolve this situation. As a result, the concerned are very much sure that, if investigated properly, than another huge embezzlement would be unearthed in the SSA Rajya mission. But who would net the culprits, is the question of the time.
