AGARTALA, Dec 12 (TIWN): Tripura Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Sunday while addressing Bangladesh’s liberation’s 50th-anniversary programme said without Bangladesh’s existence or Indian soldiers’ role in Bangladesh’s liberation, Tripura would have been under Pakistan today.
Sushanta Chowdhury was addressed at BSF headquarter and said, “Many people do not know the history. The new generation must know the facts and acknowledge the sacrifices of the people of Tripura and Indian BSF soldiers' contribution to the liberation of Bangladesh. In fact I was not aware of the sacrifices of the people of Tripura. My father too, not as a BSF but as a civilian had participated in Bangladesh’s liberation. My father was awarded by the Bangladesh Govt later. BSF’s role in the liberation is at the same time unforgettable”.
