AGARTALA, Dec 11 (TIWN): With the rising death toll of 10323 teachers, Joint Movement Committee (JMC) paid tribute to the deceased teachers and requested the Tripura Govt to keep its pre-election promise. Talking to the media, JMC Joint Convener Ajay Debbarma said, before 2018 BJP gave a promise to the 10323 teachers that once it comes into power, it will solve the terminated teachers’ problems. Ajay Debbarma said, “In 2017, 10323 teachers were in Mahakaran Abhiyan to meet the then CM. Ultimately, we met the then CM Manik Sarkar. While returning, BJP leader Sunil Deodhar met us and told us directly that once the BJP and IPFT Govt come to power, it will solve all the 10323 teachers’ problems. I want to know, where is Sunil Deodhar today?”“We will go in protest……we will organize massive protests. If the Govt can’t solve our problems, then it will get back its previous voting percentage”, added Ajay Debbarma. JMC member Dalia Das urged all the terminated teachers to get united to go for a massive movement to snatch their rights.
JMC also demanded die-in-harness jobs to the demised 10323 teachers’ families.
