AGARTALA, Dec 4 (TIWN): Acting on the tip-off of Cannabis Cultivation, Teliamura Police including the TSR force led a search in the deep forest of Koloibasti area in Teliamura and destroyed huge amounts of cannabis plants.

According to the details of the incident, around 10 am Teliamura SDPO, Sonacharan Jamatia received secret information that the cannabis mafia has been cultivating cannabis in a large area in the deep forest of Koloibasti area under Teliamura PS.

Based on the secret information Teliamura SDPO, Sonacharan Jamatia led Teliamura PS OC Naru Gopal Deb, SI Pritam Dutta, Jayant Haldar and a huge TSR force launched an anti-cannabis operation and destroyed Cannabis plants. About 10,000 cannabis trees with an estimated price of around Rs 10 lakhs were destroyed by the Police.

'Such raids will be continued in the coming days', said Teliamura SDPO Sonacharan Jamatia.
