CHARILAM, Dec 4 (TIWN): School students organized a massive protest in Charilam H.S. School in protest against 80 marks exams. The agitating students said that just 3 days ahead of their exams, they were told that their exams will be taken on 8 marks but the students who had prepared for 40 marks exams are now in severe trouble. The agitation erupted at 11 am, Saturday morning at Agartala-Sabroom National Highway. The issue has generated statewide after the Education Dept suddenly announced 80 marks exams when earlier it was announced that 40 marks exams will be taken.
Class-IX and Class-XI students blocked the road. As a result, on both sides of the road, heavy traffic jams were witnessed. Later police reached the spot and controlled the situation.
On the other hand, teachers said the students never raised any complaint about the issue but suddenly went into protest today.
