AGARTALA, Dec 3 (TIWN): Class-IX, XI students continue to Protest against 80 marks exams which was suddenly announced by the Education Dept amid the students were preparing for 40 marks exams.
Centering for the sudden announcement of 40 marks’ exams, school students of Class-IX and Class-XI have blocked the road in Kailashahar. In protest, the students had burnt tires on the road.
Talking to the media, one of the agitating students said, “The Education Department is making sudden decisions, students are suffering massively. We were preparing for our exams in 40 marks as per the announcement of the Education dept but suddenly, it has announced that it will take exams in 80. It was a shock to us. We will not accept such suddenly made anti-student decisions of the Department. It is playing with our lives and confusing with different updates in different times. How can the Govt do this ?"
It is known that after the Education Department gave notification on exams for 80 marks, changing its previous decision, students protested. The Department verbally supported the students with a positive outlook to their demands but Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath announced on 30th November that the exam will be held from December 5 in 80 marks. It has sparked protests in the state.
