AGARTALA, Dec 2 (TIWN): A woman was gang-raped on November 19 in front of Tepania Eco Park in Udaipur. Demanding exemplary punishment against the rapists the Jamatia community staged a protest on Thursday in front of Amarpur Birganj PS.

The common people of the Jamatia community organized a meeting and a rally across the city at Amarpur Chandi Bari Maidan. After the rally they demanded execution of the convicts later they gave a deputation to the officer-in-charge of Amarpur Birganj PS, Sumon Acharya.

Meanwhile, a huge police force was deployed at the rally spot and the Jamatia community head said the Protest would not be withdrawn until the culprit gets punished.
