UDAIPUR/MAHARANI, December 26 (TIWN): Angry people again blocked the Amarpur-Udaipur road at Maharani area today. For two hours the people of Maharani blocked the road at two different places- Hatimura and Colony area.. Quite naturally hundreds of people and vehicle stranded on either side of the road.

For many years people living in Maharani have been suffering from acute drinking water crisis. DWS authorities and Sub Divisional administration were informed so many times but no respite to these people. Today when the people blocked the road, administration seemed to have awaken from its sleep. MataBari Block BDO Subhadeep Chakraborty and DCM Pritam Sarkar rushed to the spot and along with them a large team of  police also rushed to the spot. Immediately they started to negotiate with the agitated people. 
         Hearing the complaints of the people both the BDO and the DCM assured that immediately steps will be taken to remove their sufferings. And getting the verbal assurance from the officials people withdrew their blockade.
