AGARTALA, Nov 7 (TIWN): CPI-M party member Nibir Chakraborty was injured in a barbaric attack by around 15 to 20 persons in Badharghat, Matripalli area. Nibir Chakraborty was returning from his shop like everyday at night but all of a sudden the group of miscreants in the darkness organized the brutal attack in an attempt of murdering him. Nibir Chakraborty received injuries on his head, hands and also 6 stitches were given on his head. Two hands of Nibir Chakraborty were fractured and in many parts of his body including waist found injured. Due to darkness, Nibir Chakraborty could not identify the miscreants. The victim alleged that because he belongs to CPI-M party with political motives, he was attacked.

An FIR was lodged in the local Police station after the incident.

Centering the Municipality poll, massive violence is going on statewide. Opposition candidates are being brutally attacked and most of the attacks are to force the candidates to withdraw nominations.
