AGARTALA, Nov 1 (TIWN): Congress’s top-layer leader Ratan Das has joined Trinamool Party, which was several times attacked by BJP. Along with Ratan Das, Sutapa Ghosh, W/O- Adv Lt Bidyut Ghosh also have joined TMC. TMC MLA Asish Das and MP Sushmita Dev were present on the occasion. Reacting over the joining programme, TMC MP Sushmita Dev said that even though only two people have joined TMC today in Agartala but everyone knows their strength and mass-supports with them. Sushmita Dev further informed the media that candidate selections are almost done and now scrutinizing the list before sending it to Kolkata. However, she agrees in 1 or 2 places, candidates are afraid as already Teliamura candidate was attacked by BJP and out of fear the candidate has refused to lodge any FIR.

“I would advise the BJP to trust in democracy. The culture which has been established by BJP snatching people’s voting rights is a totally unhealthy practice in the democracy……..we are not worried much about Agartala but yes the other areas are under threat of the BJP led attacks, rigging. Still, I would request the Election Commission to allow a free and fair election process in the upcoming poll”, said Sushmita Dev.
