Heavy Prices of Laxmi idols in Agartala, sellers facing losses

AGARTALA, Oct 10 (TIWN): The small Laxmi idols which were last year Rs.60 have gone to Rs. 120 minimum. Medium size idols start from Rs. 300 to Rs. 400.
The sellers who are facing losses said that carrying charges have doubled and due to rain, heavy losses have been faced by them. A lot of idols were damaged due to rain.
Lack of customers were also witnessed due to weather although Laxmi puja is celebrated house to house.
“We are still hopeful to overcome the loss. Now only God knows what will happen. We are reeling under tremendous losses during the entire festival season”, said the seller.
Prices of fruits, vegetables have also shot up on the occasion of Laxmi puja.
