AGARTALA, Oct 18 (TIWN): Trinamool Congress (TMC) gathered at East Agartala Police station in protest against an alleged attack on Youth Trinamool leader Santanu Saha. TMC activists led by convener Subal Bhowmik marched to the police station with flags on their shoulders and raising slogans of the party. The leaders talked to SDPO Ramesh Yadav, who assured proper investigation into the matter. Youth Trinamool leader Santanu Saha was attacked in CM Biplab Deb’s constituency Banamalipur on 15th October (the day of Dashami). Some youths covering their faces with black clothes had beaten him up. SDPO Ramesh Yadav said that police are now checking the CCTV footage.

Subal Bhowmik said, “Tomorrow is Laxmi puja and we did not want to make any chaos here but we were bound to raise our voice as police remained totally inactive in this matter. However, police have assured us of a proper investigation. Let’s see what happens or we will go into further bigger protest”.
