AGARTALA, Oct 18 (TIWN): Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Sepahijala, CAU (I), Tripura started 12 days Certificate Course on Insecticide Management for Insecticide Dealers/ Distributors at Bodhan Common Facility Centre, Officetilla, Bishalgarh, Sepahijala from 18th October, 2021 under the supervision of National Institute of Plant Health Management, Hyderabad.
The programme was organized under the guidance of Prof. Ratan Kumar Saha, Dean, College of Fisheries, Lembucherra and supervision of Dr Shatabhisa Sarkar, Senior Scientist & Head of this KVK welcomed the dignitaries, insecticide dealers/distributors etc. A total of 40 participants were applied for the course. Prof Ratan Kumar Saha, Dean, College of Fisheries, Lembucherra, while giving a preamble speech highlighted different issues related to pesticide application, consumption, residue and impact on human health.
At the outset of the programme, Dr A. K. Tripathi, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Zone VII, Umiam inaugurated the programme and enlightened the importance of certificate course.
Om Pal Singh, Assistant Director (Pesticide Monitoring & Residue Analysis), NIPHM, Dept. of Agriculture & Cooperation, Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad accentuated on the role of NIPHM and plant health related issues. He also appreciated and congratulated to KVK, Sepahijala for well-organized of the last batch certificate course successfully. Dr. Dilip Kumar Das, Deputy Director of Agriculture, Govt of Tripura, Sepahijala gave an insight into the pesticide consumption and livestock/human health.
Dr Utpal Dey, SMS (Plant Protection), KVK, Sepahijala highlighted the 12 days programme schedule and importance of the course. A study material was released during the programme for the benefit of participants. During the aforesaid programme, SOP guidelines were strictly followed to prevent COVID-19.
