AGARTALA, Oct 17 (TIWN): Idol sellers have complained about a ‘low profit’ in Laxmi puja due to price hikes of various materials.
Talking to a seller, he said, demands of Laxmi idols are yet to be felt even though it is such a festival which is observed in almost every house.
“Earlier the idols making charge was between Rs. 150 to Rs. 200 but now the charges have increased more and it takes around Rs. 600 to make big idols, whereas in sales we can’t warn much as people are not ready to pay higher. Economy is also down and that’s why common men are unable to purchase high price idols. Still, let’s see how much we can earn”, said a seller named Bijoy Datta in Agartala.
Laxmi puja is on 19th October. Laxmi is the Goddess of Wealth and Prosperity, is worshipped house to house.
