AGARTALA, Oct 14 (TIWN): Rush of people increased on Maha-Ashtami and Navami nights.

Durga puja is the festival which is considered as the biggest festival of the state where people roam with family, friends in the evening, after offering puja on day in temples and pandals.

In Agartala, in comparison to yesterday, today the crowd increased a lot. People are busy enjoying pandal hopping.

Durga Ashtami is considered to be one of the most important days of Durga Puja. It begins with mahasnan and shodashopachara puja, which is similar to Saptami puja. On this day, nine small pots are installed and nine shaktis of Durga are then invoked in them. All the nine forms of the goddess are worshipped during Maha Ashtami puja. Young, unmarried girls are also worshipped on this day. This is known as ‘Kumari Puja’.
