AGARTALA, Oct 12 (TIWN): Resentments sparked among the people for the increasing onion prices in the state. In one week the price has increased to Rs 60, which has erupted massive anger among the buyers.
Talking to a seller in Agartala market, he said, “Prices are increasing rapidly and I’m clueless why the prices are increasing like this. People ask us the reason but in reality we also do not know the reason behind the hiking rates. It is also affecting the markets. In wholesale markets the prices of onions remain between Rs. 50 to Rs. 60.
This rise of onion prices has been affecting food businesses in the state which are expecting high profits in Durga puja season.
