AGARTALA, Oct 12 (TIWN): CPI-M has observed Bir Chandra Manu Saheedan Diwas in Agartala.

Every year on 12th October this day is observed with full honour by the party.

Talking to a Communist leader, he said, “In 1988, under the Congress Govt massive tortures were going on upon the Comrades. Our party offices were burnt, captured. On 12th October, CPI-M members with police permission went to the office to hoist party flag there but Congress workers had killed 12 CPI-M workers on spot along with 2 police officials. On that day, people of Tripura took oath to end the evil Govt and established CPI-M Govt”.

“Today the same days are coming back and BJP-IPFT Govt are operating in the same way. This day is thus much significant as like the previous Congress Govt, the BJP also will be defeated by people to establish democracy”, said the Communist leader.
