BELONIA, Oct 6 (TIWN): CPI-M led by Sanjukta Kishan Morcha staged a massive protest in Belonia over the killing of farmers in Uttar Pradesh.
The CPI-M also demanded that the Govt must withdraw the anti-farmer bills.
At least eight people, including four farmers, have been killed when violence broke out in India’s Uttar Pradesh state after a convoy of cars linked to a federal minister’s son ran over a group of farmers protesting against farm laws, according to local media reports.
Farmers’ outfits said the son of India’s Deputy Home Minister Ajay Kumar Mishra was in one of the cars involved in the accident in Lakhimpur Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh. Mishra however rejected the claim.
Union Minister, Ajay Misra's son Ashish Misra alias Manu Mishra killed protesting farmers by mowed down in Lakhimpur, Uttar Pradesh centering this at the call of Samyukta Kishan Morcha and Leftist organisations, CPIM organised a protest rally in Belonia.
The rally started from CPIM Belonia sub-divisional office and passed through Bank Road, Eknong Tila and ended in front of the CPIM Belonia subdivision office. Krishak Sabha Belonia sub-divisional secretary Babul Debnath said at the meeting that a massive agitation has been going on across the country and for the last ten months demanding repeal of three agricultural laws, about 500 farmers' organizations have supported the movement. But the central government has not taken any initiative to repeal the agricultural laws. Krishak Sangharsh Samanvay Samiti has decided the protest will be continued until the three agricultural laws are repealed.
