AGARTALA, Sep 25 (TIWN): On the occasion of the 183rd birth anniversary of Tripura’s one of the greatest kings Bir Chandra Manikya, the State Central Library has called on the people to regularly visit the library and to be a part of the library reading culture which was a battle of the late King as a part of his contribution to make a “Modern Tripura”.
183rd birth anniversary of the late King was observed in the State Central Library in Agartala. The library was built by the King himself.
Talking to the media on the occasion, Head Librarian Dilip Kr Das said, “We are observing this day with full respect for the great King. To implement the thinking and ideas of the King about a modern Tripura we all need to contribute. This library was actually a movement started by the King and we have to contribute our best to the movement. I would like to request the readers to visit the library regularly and be regular readers”.
Maharaja Bir Chandra Manikya was the king of Tripura from 1862 to 1896. He is known as the founder of “Modern Tripura”.
