AGARTALA, Sep 21 (TIWN): Infighting: Gournagar Panchayat Samiti Chairperson, Naran singh including 2 persons were attacked by same-party Panchayat pradhan and other associate members

According to the details of the incident, several people including Panchayat Samiti chairperson Narayan Singh and vice chairperson Shiv Shankar Adhikari along with Goldharpur gram Panchayat Pradhan Hira Sinha were in a meeting in Gournagar block. The meeting was held for development work of Rs 10 lakh from the fund of Panchayat Samiti. During meeting the chairperson of the Department clearly stated that it is not possible to sanction this money or work without the resolution and legal procedure of the Panchayat.

Centering chairperson’s statements, the Panchayat Pradhan and his associates vandalized the chair, table and harassed the chairperson and the other members.

Police and TSR force were deployed to control the situation. The chairperson of the Panchayat association would file a case at Kailasahar PS.
